It seems Anthony Hopkins isn't content with playing a critical role in just one mega shared universe, with Variety announcing that the Silence of the Lambs Oscar winner has signed on to Michael Bay's fifthTransformers film, The Last Knight.
Hopkins, in an unspecified role, joins a returning Mark Wahlberg. This will be the veteran actor's latest blockbuster undertaking after starring as Odin in Marvel's Thor films.
There's a lot we don't yet know about The Last Knight, but we've speculated on who the title could be referencing and gotten an early look at the film's new version of Megatron.
Hopkins is not the first Oscar winner to join the Transformers franchise, notably preceded by Orson Wells as the voice of Unicron in 1985'sTransformers: The Movie, not to mention Jon Voight in Bay's firstTransformers.
